Autoblog Update and Apology

I am sorry, I have been away from this blog for quite some time. I have been focusing on different areas of Internet Marketing. The particular area I have been quite interested in is PLR ebooks and software. You can literally take a product, swap out some graphics, change it up a bit and put your name as the creator. You take your new product, add an affiliate program and promote. Having your own product will definitely help you in the long run.

Why do I touch on this in an autoblogging blog?  Well, autoblogs are a great way to promote your own products. Or, have you ever discovered a niche that interests you but no product to promote? Create your own product and push it.  Enough on that.

As usual I have been playing around with different plugins and software in order to develop that perfect autoblog. The one I have enjoyed using is Wp Robot. This is quite the plugin, but very pricey. Wp Robot can do pretty much everything you would need, best of all there are different addons that allow you to add ebay and amazon products. Its great, I paid full price and have never looked back.

Another intersting piece of software I discovered is Auto Blogging Software by Webmagnates. This fancy software by Nick Carty allows you to create a Blogger autoblog! It will pull full rss feeds and send them to the blogger blog of your choice. Do you realize the potential? Unlimited autoblogs that you do not need to host, plus the search engines love blogger blogs. Plus, blogger blogs help you build link juice for some of your more legit products. Check it out.

I will continue to post more often and would love to hear your comments.

Autoblog Plugins

You need to add some meat to your blog. The basic blog set up just won’t cut it, you need to add some plugins. Plugins are basically just addons that allow you to optimize Wordpress for your own use. Some people may define that differently. Any how, here are the basic plugins that I tend to use;

Here are the typical plugins I use for content;

I am going to be honest here, some of these plugins cost money. Autoblogging may be Blackhat but, I always end up paying for plugins that I enjoy. I tend to find “copies” of interesting plugins, I test them, if I like them I buy a legit copy. Its only fair, give credit where credit is due.

Ok, Jeffs plugin is a huge time saver. Install it and follow all directions. Install the recommended plugins, add your blog keywords, details and apply the blog tweaks. This will make your autoblog an SEO giant.

I typically use a combination of at least 2 of the autoblog plugins. This way it mixes things up a bit.

Yes, those links are affiliate links. If you like the plugins and decide to buy please consider using my links as a thank-you ;)

By now you should have your domain name and hosting.  You are ready to install your blog.  You would have received an email with your hosting and given details on how to log into cpanel. In cpanel, you need to find FANTASTICO DE LUXE, then find WORDPRESS. Choose NEW INSTALLATION, find your domain in the drop menu and fill out the rest of the details. Install the blog in the root, not a subfolder. Thats pretty much all there is to installing a wordpress blog.

And guess what here is a video tutorial:

Host Your Autoblog

You need to host your autoblog somewhere. You need to find hosting that will allow you to grow as you grow. Chances are you will want to use several addon domain names to produce several autoblogs.  Of all the hosts that I have used, I continue to use, and recommend Hostgator. I have a hostgator coupon for my readers below.

To get your first month of hosting for 1 penny. Just follow these steps.

  1. Go to Hostgator: Click Here
  2. Look for the Baby Package and choose Order Now.
  3. Look for the coupon box and enter the code 1cent

Thats all there is to it. The best hosting for 1 penny.

Once you have your hosting, find out your nameservers and point your domain to those nameservers. If you don`t know how to do that, please post your comments below.

    Autoblog, Getting Started – Picking a Niche

    Ok, I’m not much of a writer and I’m not going to bore you. So let me jump straight to it.

    You want to build an autoblog. First you need to pick a niche (topic) for your autoblog. Its always good to pick something you know about, but if not, it really doesn’t matter.  Lets say you pick pocket watch.

    Goto google’s keyword tool, https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and type in pocket watch.

    Look for a long tail keyword (3 words or more) with low competition. I found “pocket watch collection”

    Make sure the top 10 currently ranking sites are mostly inner pages from big sites like Amazon.com or EzineArticles.com etc. Look not too bad, I will stick with my choice for now.

    Go to namecheap.com and see if the domain is available as an exact match. No spaces, hyphens or additional words. Has to be .com, .net or .org. I see that .com is taken so I will use .net. (I am not really going to register, just as an example)

    Now, you have your keyword “pocket watch collection” and your domain name pocketwatchcollection.net.

    Spend sometime with this process of picking a niche for your autoblog. Make sure your long tail keyword has around 1,000 to 3,000 monthly searches on average.  Basically what we are trying to accomplish is first page ranking for long tail keywords. Once you have that you tighten up and focus on more popular keywords.

    Get to it and find your keyword, and domain name. Watch for the next post on autoblogs.

    This is the process I use, if you use a different method that works great, please leave your comments, suggestions or tips.
